Cincinnati Hunger Walk & 5K Run website was my first new web development project for the Freestore Foodbank. It took me about a month to develop the site because I was learning a new digital fundraising platform at the same time of thinking about the design. Once I got the ball rolling on the concept, all the pieces started to come together and ready for the live launch. It took me another month to get everything working and looking the way it should.
The website has multiple components and is a fully-functional database driven website with digital fundraising integration. The ultimate goal for the website is to raise money through online donations, participant registrations and a back-end CMS for team captains to manage their team pages and emails.
I was able to get my hands on last year’s video from Local 12 for the landing page. I made some edits to the video and added in current sponsor logos. The website is designed to be completely responsive, including the video and the jQuery animation on the inside pages. All parts of the website is tracked with Google Analytics.
There are many other moving parts that I worked on for Hunger Walk – email campaigns, SEO/SEM and hosting to name a few. I will leave that up to your imagination. My main contribution was the web development and making sure the website went live on time and all the features work. Done.
